It’s the season of giving thanks, and boy are we thankful for you! Whether you’re a client, a partner, a subscriber, or a visitor, thanks for joining in on the fun! To say thanks, we thought we’d highlight some of the ways we show our attitude of gratitude at Verified First.
Attitude of Gratitude is all about showing our employees and customers how grateful we are for them while encouraging our employees to voice their own gratitude. We’ve seen our teams grow closer and happier than ever-- here’s why and how we show thanks.
The Benefits of Gratitude
We’ve all been taught to say “thank you” since we were little, but gratitude is much more than good manners-- it’s about thinking about the things and people that make you healthy and happy. Tons of studies have found all sorts of health benefits of gratitude, including decreased anxiety, more patience, fewer physical aches and pains, stronger relationships, and much more. Gratitude has also been scientifically proven to decrease depression, improve your sleep, and improve your overall quality of life.
These benefits are focused on the benefits of giving gratitude, but it also feels great to receive gratitude. When someone shows genuine gratitude to you, it’s affirming and encouraging. Studies have also found that when people receive gratitude, they’re likely to be more productive and engaged at work.
Our Attitude of Gratitude month is a great way to encourage gratitude that benefits the whole company.
Attitude of Gratitude
To kick off Attitude of Gratitude we encourage our employees to share some of the things they’re grateful for. We all make note of the things we’re grateful for in our lives, and post them in the breakroom. This year's notes were a huge success!
We also know that receiving gratitude can sometimes feel as good as giving it, so we encourage our team to display gratitude to their coworkers. Every year, we pass around cards for employees to write notes of gratitude toward their teammates. These notes mean so much to everyone, and they often stay proudly displayed at people’s desks longgg after November.
At the end of the month, we bring the whole company together for a Thanksgiving dinner because we're family. Our Thanksgiving dinner is a fun way to ‘say thanks’ to our employees. Our employees love it, and it gives us quality time outside of the office to continue building and strengthening relationships with one another.
Celebrating Gratitude Year-Round
Although we particularly focus on gratitude in November, we try our best to show it year-round. We’ve been recognized as a best place to work in Idaho for four years in a row, and that’s because of our employee-focused culture. Whether we give our employees more flextime, rent a movie theater, or throw together a Treat Yo’ Self Day, we always look to tell our employees ‘thank you’ because we know we couldn’t do anything without them.
“We love that throughout the year, we hear simple but heartfelt “thank yous” across the office,” shared HR Generalist, Jessica Muir. “Attitude of Gratitude truly goes beyond the month of November, and I’m very grateful for that.”
In the spirit of Attitude of Gratitude, we’re so thankful for all of our customers, partners, and team members! We would love to hear how you show gratitude, either during Thanksgiving or throughout the year. Let us know in the comments below!
